The Beginning and the End

…or “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” (March 2003)

Ah, that infamous scene from the 24th (?) episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion when Shinji has finally captured the final Angel, Tabris in the hand of EVA Unit 01 and that painstaking period (for a bit over a minute) while we wait for Shinji to squeeze his hand and destroy Tabris (he knows he has to do it, but he must have been doing his nut in inside the EVA). All this to the sounds of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and then the final shot of Tabris’ decapitated head dropping into the LCL pool, oooh, the brilliance of it! Such inspiration!

I dislike using colour usually. Not sure why I did with this one. The end.
